Pilates is a system of exercises that use resistance and weight bearing to strengthen the body from the inside out and head to toe. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century (originally called “Contrology”), Pilates focuses around six main principals: Centering, Control, Concentration, Precision, Breath and Flow. The goal is to create alignment, strength and balance.
Pilates is a system of strengthening and stretching exercises to increase range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture and abdominal strength while also decreasing back, neck and joint pain. Pilates is very adaptable. Pilates is ideal for those coming back to exercise from injury as well as those already in great shape.
